Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty in the treatment of coronary artery disease--the local experience: a review of 100 cases.
This paper reviews our first 100 consecutive PTCAs done between December 1988 and May 1990. There were 31 females and 69 males and their ages ranged from 37 years to 80 years. The mean age was 57.7 years. We achieved a follow-up rate of 66%. The restenosis rate was 22% of those that we could follow-up. There were 35 simple and 65 complex PTCAs. An average of 1.39 arteries were entered per PTCA....
متن کاملDynamic changes in purine catabolism in patients with acute coronary syndrome that underwent percutaneous coronary intervention
Background: Cardiovascular diseases are global problems. They are causes of death in about 43% of people worldwide and may become the most widespread reason of death by 2020. The prognosis is directly dependent to immediate diagnosis and on time treatment. Introduction of new biochemical markers as the early diagnosis of complications after coronary revascularization is very important in this p...
متن کاملPercutaneous peripheral interventions in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease.
BACKGROUND coronary artery disease (CAD) is often accompanied by peripheral artery disease. There are patients who are disqualified from surgical approach in the treatment of limb ischaemia due to many comorbidities including severe CAD. AIM to examine whether multilevel intervention (peripheral and coronary) in patients with multi-vessel CAD (MVD) carries a higher in-hospital and long-term r...
متن کاملComparative Effectiveness of Percutaneous Coronary Interventions and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting for Coronary Artery Disease Executive Summary
Atherosclerosis develops in a patchy, discontinuous fashion within coronary arteries. Therefore, it is possible to treat the discrete areas of obstruction that most impede coronary blood flow to the myocardium. The mechanical approaches to coronary revascularization fall broadly into two categories: coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) and catheterbased percutaneous coronary intervent...
